My Unusual Birthday
Unlike the other girls
My birthday weridly swirls.
It falls in the middle of winter
And it sticks like a splinter.
January 12 is when my birthday falls.
The amount of girls who share my birthday
Is so small
That those that do drift away.
Most other girls
Have their birthdays
In May, June, and July
When the temperatures soar high,
And schools are on summer break
When the girls look more beautiful and active
As others can take.

I am sharing this because I am a girl with a birthday in January. Most of the other girls have their birthdays between April and August. Most girls are happy about it because they get to share the love with so many others with their birthday. They usually do not care for fall, winter, or early spring babies (September-March) because they cannot relate to them, which makes me sad. Also, statistics claim that summer babies perform better in school, act more optimistically, are more attractive, and live longer than winter babies. That makes me feel like I am disadvantaged because my birthday is in January. I do not hate April-August babies, but I think I should not be judged for having a January birthday.
