The Man That Never Picked Up A Baseball
His mind locked into something else that isn’t his own product.
“You want to go to the park,” the boy says.
He doesn’t look up.
You don’t expect him to.
He never does.
He sits there his t-shirt slung across his just overgrown stomach.
The boy goes to hug him.
His eyes don’t stir.
His lips dried from the wife he never kisses.
His skin pale, because he is never sun burnt from being at the field, or Disneyland.
He stays there unmoving, unattentive.
“Dad?”
