"One child, one teacher, one pen and one book can change the world."

turn the dial,
some cold, some hot.
let new bed fill
unto the top.
lay sweet body,
lay sweet mind
upon new bed
with young closed eyes.
face your fear
to escape another,
and rest the ear
in your new slumber.
as sound of blur
and mumble and spur
fill the mind
by its first
and final encounter,
just sleep in new bed
and rest there forever
to clear your head
and to fear never.

The author's comments:

This poem was created to show a dark beauty in the nature of death. I wanted to display an idea that is atypical of what most would think of death. It is typically seen as a force one fears; however, this poem displays a simple submission and acceptance of death.
