I tried so hard-
but in the end,
I didn’t get so far-
and my wounded heart won’t mend
The love I can’t have-
last the longest.
the love - that I gave
feels the strongest
But it’s time - to move on,
and ignore my heart’s protests
because - she is long gone,
and hope - my life predigests.
