Solar Powered Battery
She walks barefoot
the earth damp and cold.
Each step she feels
rooted
grounded.
Into the dark woods.
Into the abyss.
The winds blows
her hair flutters, electrified,
moving with dreams of flight.
moving with the false hope of flight.
The sky begins to open up,
just before the sun drops
down into the cool water.
Rain is what reminds her
that clouds have a heartbeat.
that she has a heartbeat..
Each step is more difficult
rain soaked,
pounding on her shoulders
overbearing.
It’s draining,
sucking the energy out of her
near to being completely drained.
near to giving up.
Each step she takes
she feels alive
taking on nature
persevering.
Everything that holds her down,
that sucks her dry
energizes her.
shoves her forward.
As the sky opens up
so does her soul,
the rain revitalizes her life,
Earth’s own CPR.
She is a machine.
She is a used tool.
Every once in awhile,
she needs to re charge-
a solar powered battery,
to rip her out
of that lower power mode.
To energize her life.
To resuscitate her.
That solar powered battery
is her lifeline,
that little bit of spine she clings to.
Her fail safe,
there to catch her if she falls.
there to catch her when she falls.
She feels alive
for the first time in a
very long time.
One with the world
she goes on.
