1000 Dying Suns
They are the only ones who light the day. I am the only one who can see the strain. 1000 dying suns infinitely strained together. 1000 who do nothing but give. 1000 who shine brighter than anything else known to man. Harnessing their ultraviolet rays, we hope for clean energy, but only I can see the strain.
Their strength is dwindling. They have been illuminating the skies for millenniums. They know the end is near but they won’t subside without a fight. They shine brighter than ever befor, they shine brighter than white.
Let one be without light, they’d squirm like fish out of water, with their hands around mouth gasping for air. Strain, strain, strain I say. Only I can see the strain.
When I see their strain I wonder if it will ever be enough, when I am just a tiny thing amongst 1000 dying suns, then I realize. That there is nothing I can do but look out at the 1000 suns and hope. But it was already too late. 1000 dying suns, die.
