"Who are you to judge the life I live? I am not perfect and I don't have to be! Before you start pointing fingers, make sure your hands are clean." -Bob Marley

Living in a nightmare.
Walking along this lonely earth, with no meaning.
Days are long
and nights are too short.
Still living in a nightmare even after awakening.
Ever wish you could just stay in bed?
Not because you are just tired.
Not because you’re having a bad day.
But, because you don’t have the motivation.
Because you feel as if it would be a waste.
Your body is so heavy,
To the point where you feel as if you can’t move.
You walk down the streets with an anchor on your back,
While dragging your feet to the next destination.
Drowning in your own tears,
Watching everyone breathe
While you’re just wishing for death.
Feeling so alone,
Giving up on hope.
But, still wishing to be saved.
Feeling as if no one cares,
But still wishing for three little words.
Waiting for the words,
“Are you alright?”
“Are you okay?”
“How are you doing?”
Three little words
That may save your life.
But, you feel as if it’s pointless to hope,
Because you’ve just grown so used to the pain.
Living inside a game with no gain.
Well, not actually living,
But just surviving.
Barely making it through the day.
Crying over yesterday
And the days that follow.
Living in a life of grey and rain.
Numbering your days,
Debating over life and death.
Never knowing how much time you may have left.
Going through your days with a smile plastered on your face.
It says happy,
But your eyes,are saying
Pain.

The author's comments:

I have always loved writing. I dont just write poetry, but also other formats such as short stories. My writing tends to be more meloncholy or "dark" as some pay put it. Due to many past and unfortunate events, I find it easier to write in this style for the words kind of flow easier. I look up to Edgar Allan Poe, I both admire his writing and how he used his feelings caused by despair to help create some of his best work.
