Stuggling
Her eyes bloodshot, mascara on her cheeks
The door opens to reveal the overwhelming smell
Alcohol and cigarettes flood the senses of those who walk in
Embarrassment and regret of ever sending invitations
The pain can be seen on her arm
As drops of struggle and sorrow fall
Everything on her heart can be seen in her eyes
Her light won’t shine forever
She can’t continue this alone
Getting worse each and every day
Barely holding on to the things that make her happy
Fingers letting go one by one, slipping slowly off the edge
In her eyes you will see no hope
Broken pieces of her are unfixable
Shifting and searching for a reminder it will be okay but
Life doesn’t work that way
The nightmare has now become reality
Hurt by the one who is supposed to comfort you
Looking into the future only to see darkness
Eyes closed praying for a miracle
Behind closed eyes she can see the color
The life she dreams of is blurred by tears
How can her little light, light up the darkness
When the neverending darkness is too much
Her statements get more real every time she says them
Nowhere to run
Nothing to hold onto except the ones she loves
She can’t continue this alone
