Religious Interview With My Mother
Lawrence: Here she is people, a 33 year old woman, the woman who helped raise me, the woman who taught me so many manners, and the woman who helped teach me about how to treat ladies. My mother everyone. Mom, we all know that this interview is about your religion and I am just here to ask you a few questions. What religion do you associate your life with and why?
Mother: I am associated with the religion of Christianity because for so much time in my life I have been a Christian. Christianity is a religion that I was born with and also raised. When I was little my grandmother and my mother took my brother and I to church every Wednesday and Sunday and even sometimes Saturday.
Lawrence: How do you keep your children involved in Christianity?
Mother: I try to do as much as I can. There is so much going on in the world and I try to direct my kids in a totally opposite path, which is right towards Jesus. I make sure they say their prayers, their dad and I make sure that they go to church every Wednesday and Sunday. My mother is also a great help. Every Thanksgiving and Christmas we always remember God. Throughout the fun and games we always take the time out to pray and thank God for letting us see another Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Lawrence: Have you ever doubted God?
Mother: Never, I know God will not put too much on me that I cannot bear and I know that he will release the burden sooner or later. There have been times where I really thought that “Is God really doing this,” but that same day I went to church and the message was just for me. The message was titled “God Is Still There.”
Lawrence: Have you ever thought about changing your religion and why?
Mother: Not at all, I think Christianity is probably the simplest religion, you can express yourself to God through prayer and church and God will hear the same as Allah hears the Islamic people.
Lawrence: I definitely believe in God, but my question to you is why do you believe in God?
Mother: I believe in God because I know he sent his only begotten son down to take away our sins. God has to love us enough that he is willing to do such a thing. There is a whole book (The Bible) that gives examples of how much God loves us. God is our savior, he is our healer, he is our provider, and these are all things that people should give him praise for.
Lawrence: Wow, that seems very enthusiastic and it real touched my heart. Well it seems as if you love God, and you really want to give him praise. I like the fact that you include your children, your mother, and even your whole family throughout the fun. I chose to interview you because I only know he basics of your religious history, and now I know more.
After the interview, I gave my mother a hug and I thanked her because I now know her more.
