Lunch Struggles
11:06, Lunch is the only thing going through my mind.
The bell rings, I rush down the hallway.
I pass about 60 lockers all reminding me of french fries.
Everyone races to the cafeteria like a herd of elephants.
I find a seat, by then I’m about to die of starvation.
I sit down, open my lunch box and see the glorious food.
Looking around seeing everyone eating--
Crisp greasy chips,
The colorful chewy fruit snack
and fresh juicy apples.
It was my time to eat I kept thinking as I was looking at the lunch line.
The lunch line was a mile long.
I peered into my lunch box again.
I pulled out all my food
There was--
A sandwich with peanut butter and jelly oozing out of it.
Cookies with a lot of chocolate chips.
Carrots as orange as a pumpkin,
and a juice.
Suddenly I realized need to get to eating.
Then I ate all of the food in literally 2 minutes.
As I get closer to the trash
I can smell the stench of all the food rotting,
That has been sitting out of a few days.
Leaving the lunchroom now,
The stench of the trash leaving with me.
Outside I have to go recess.
I step outside,
The cold frigid air blowing against me
The birds chirping loudly,
and the sun shining.
Waiting for the whistle to blow to go back inside.
The whistle finally blow,
I had to plow through the crowd like a rhino,
just to get to my locker again,
Got my binder, and math book
Off to math I have to go.
