The Walk to Mercy
He told me to walk
To walk where my heart lies
My heart lies on the threshold
The threshold of no mercy
No mercy that I must abide by
He told me to walk
To walk past the outcasts
The outcasts of my wrong doing
My wrong doing where there was now no mercy
No mercy that I must abide by
He told me to walk
To walk past the successful
The successful who are better than I
Better than I for I have no mercy
No mercy that I must abide by
He told me to walk
To walk past the grave
The grave of my grief
My grief which I take to have no mercy
No mercy that I must abide by
I told him that I will not
I will not be ashamed of my mistakes
My mistakes that made me: me
Me that does need mercy
Mercy which I do not need from the outcast himself

I was inspired by the fact thatc we all try to fit in. This poem talks about how one person was being told to look at all the things they did wrong that made them different from this group and that group. Though in the end they chose to take a different path and embrace all of their flaws and mistakes. They chose to be themselves because only they can be themselves.
