Beautiful Mindy stood tall and bright as she spoke to me that night, she said she told him without a fright, "Don't be mad because I put your girl to shame all back no butt with no brain. Oh no it's okay, sure i'm not one of those "good ones" they send out to play. They say be nice be sweet mindy, on this beautiful day, but it's not my fault I can't be tamed. " Mindy reminds me of me back in my day. all sass with class, I got my way.

You may look and assume that-- that girl does things in the last stall of the boys bathroom. Maybe it's because of the way she wears her dress or the way the rumors wiggle their way through each classroom, or because you didn't seem to notice her dancing to the rhythemm of her own tune, starting with her feet she marched to every beat that no one could see.

She moved as fresh as the waves in the sea. She was unique and just as powerful as those hefty tides. As an inspiration for women like you and me. To all the women that stand togther and say yae to degradations great demise we'll work together to support one another, and just like the sun to the day and the moon to the night, we'll rise

This poem was written in inspiration to Maya Angelous poem "Still I Rise" but with my own twist. Enjoy!
