Some say books were meant for reading
But books just cant be read
A story is told
A dream takes place
And stories of what was now is
Because

A pirate story brings you to an island
A space story brings you to outer space
A nature story brings you outside
A your story enhances the world around you

When you read a book
You live it
At least, a movie is played
A good story is good fun
When you read it

Now as lay, supine and sprawled upon the couch
I nervously bite on my nails
Because the main character is in trouble
The world around me disappears
And soon I'm the jungle
I can sense that danger is near
A scene unfolds in front of me
A life and death situation
I stare in awe as I realize
That it is only a story

Books aren't meant for reading
Books are necessary for life.
