Freed Strings
Carefully knitted strings tied intricately together,
slowly unravel beyond my control.
Thread and needle formed a beautiful picture
and now it’s nothing like I expected.
No idea how I ended right here with
pricked fingers and tired eyes.
It was all planned out and suddenly
everything is strange, uncertain, and broken.
How hard I struggled to fix my vision
and desperately tried to tie it all back together.
Foolish and childish to think thread is indestructible.
Overly complacent in my ability to get it right.
I chose the wrong pattern from the beginning.
I see now it was never right.
So long have I seen this dream in my eyes.
Now its gone and I am completely blind.
