How has my past affected my present? My past is what made me who I am today. It’s funny to think about how if one, maybe two certain things had or hadn’t happened I would be just a totally different person altogether. My parents have played a pretty big part in who I am today, guiding me until I could guide myself. One person thats made me experience one of the most important things in life, which is happiness, is my girlfriend.
My past has affected my present by merely existing. Now that I'm taking the time to reflect on my past, it brings back memories that really have had an impact on who I am today, and how I've turned out so far. Things such as: looking both ways before I cross the street, and brush my teeth twice a day. My parents taught me those simple things that really matter. Who knows maybe I would of been hit by a car during my childhood if I hadn't known to be cautious and look both ways when I cross the road? And maybe I would have nasty teeth if I didn't brush my teeth two times a day. My parents are my real heroes because they look out for my well being and care for my interests, especially if its something thats good for me. My parents have been looking out for me since day one and I’m just realizing now that I've taken them for granted, but I truly am thankful for them.
Some lessons that I've learned along the way are interesting to talk about. I've learned many things in the past and will learn many more in the future. Some things that im grateful to have learned are things like how to tie my shoes, and not stick anything into holes if you don't know where its been or where it came from.  Those are most likely the most important things of all time that I've learned in the past. Well, those things and also to never drink and drive.
One or event or person thats changed my life and morphed it into what it is today is obviously my parents, but also someone really special to my heart, and that  is my special lady. She taught me to open up. She made me, and enabled me, to experience strong feelings for another human. I’ve never had such verisimilitude feelings for a girl in my life. People get older, people get wiser, and people get dumber. The thing that I'm getting more and more of is happy, truly happy. Happiness makes one be more lively and more comfortable with life and other things. Im glad that I found someone that really makes my world go round. If there were anything that I could learn over and over again, it would to be happy. I relearn the meaning of happiness everyday I see her. If there were only a doppelganger of her I'd be in utopia. My hubris may be getting the best of me, because I fear the day that my happiness runs out.

This essay has opened my eyes to the fact that my past makes me who i am today, and I have made a pretty good past and present for myself. Now i need to work on my future.
