The Ocean
You’re still in your car, but you can already smell the salty sea air
You park the car, get out, and run towards the beach
Find a spot
Drop the beach bag and folding chair
Kick off your flip-flops and dash to the water
Stick your foot in
It’s freezing cold
You finally run in
Your whole body shivers
You go in to your calves, your knees, your waist
You finally get your hair wet
Pretty soon you’re used to the cold
Big waves break with their white foam
You try to hold your ground
Seagulls fly above you, squawking continuously
You take in the moment, with the beautiful ocean and the sun high overhead
