A tiny voice asked himself “is she the one”? God’s little angel was sent to earth tonight at 8:00 February 4th, 2015 to pick up Chandra.  Diagnosed with Sickle Cell Anemia at a very young age she was told she wouldn’t live past four years old. “You can do it baby just pull through” her mother whispered in her ear. It broke her heart to know her daughter would be leaving her soon. Who would she spend her Christmas with? Who would she buy gifts for on January 9th? “You can’t leave me, I’m not ready for you to go” her mother said aloud.  Chandra could not speak so to acknowledge her mother she squeezed her hand. Her mother burst to tears. She could no longer take it. Watching her baby struggle, it broke her down.
She had been struggling for some time now. She has been proving the doctors wrong for years now.  She sure did prove those doctors wrong. She was now 23 years old still holding on. In October she found out that there was a donor found for a blood transfusion that was compatible with her blood. Her mother immediately jumped right on it. Look at us now. Four months later and on her death bed. It just didn’t make sense. This was supposed to help her, not make her worse. Her twin sister whispered in her ear. “You can let go now sissy, I don’t want you to hurt anymore”.  She was bawling, the fact that her sister was in that much pain made her want to split the pain with her. When Chandra hurt she hurt. That’s just how it went.
While her twin was speaking to her, their mother watched and was making a decision that would change everyone’s life . “Should I take her off the ventilator?” “She is in pain 99% of the time” She will never live a normal life” “If she could speak what would she say?” “What does she She was a strong woman, she didn’t want to give up. Chandra began to God could see this but he no longer wanted her to suffer. He loved how tough Chandra was, she was holding on no longer for herself, but for her friends and family. She didn’t want them to think that she was giving up on them. Each day when they begged her to not let go, promising that things would get better when they were told that Chandra would only get worse. She lie in her hospital bed just being taken off of her ventilator. The Angel could see all of her family and friends surrounding her. With each breath her gasps began to get more and more difficult. She was slowly going. God had been debating on if he felt as if it were her time and he made his decision. It was now her time to be with god. The Angel continued to watch and just couldn’t believe that it was her time to go, but he dare not question God. Because he has the ultimate power. Chandra lay, ready to go home now, accepting the fact that she would be going to a better place. Knowing that she wasn’t letting her friends and family down. She would now be happy. The Angel slowly lifted Chandra’s spirit out of her and her body was now lifeless. No more difficult breathing, no more pain every day, out of her misery. Chandra watched over her body for a while and floated in the air as she watched her friends and family mourn her death. She blew a kiss at them all and followed the Angel to the light.
