the Blackened Heart

You left me here in the dark
Oh so very alone
My heart searched for years
For a place to call home

When I saw you
I longed for you
I was blinded by love
From an angel above

We laughed and we cried
You looked in my eyes
And said “I’ll be here for you friend
Even when time’s at an end”

As time went by
I fell so in love with you
Reality wore a disguise
I belied what wasn’t the truth

If only you knew

My life froze when you broke my heart
You blindly turned me away
Was it I who was at fault
When you abandoned me for another that day

Darkness surrounds me
Circling like vultures
She does not love me
But I will always love her

Words degrading
My skin grows cold
Vision fading
I’m losing control….

The knight is no more
The darkness consumed him
His shining armor corrupted
As did his tender heart

And thus the light drained from his eyes
He wore darkness and pain as his veil
He broke through the lies
He swore he would not fail

He released a vengeful roar
“We will be together once more,
My love” he swore

Twisted visions in his mind
 Begin to warp and swirl
What once was love has now become
A curse that darkens his world

The author's comments:

This Poem is about a novel i'm brainstorming.

It discribes the life a Teenage guy who grew up in a diffrent world than ours, where politcal issues have turned into war.

this character's parents were killed by a gang of diffent political veiws. driving him into depressoin and hatred for said politcal views.

But that all changed when he met the girl of his dreams, they evetually became great friend's. But alas: the girl belived in the same views that killed his family. this causes him to lash out, making her leave him out of fear.

This drive him insane. Beliveing that no one can love him, including her, he gives into the darkness, and becomes a monster set out to get his beloved back.
