I Am In This Pit Because Of You
I am in this pit because of you.
You courted me, waltzed me to the edge of this hole.
You watched, you waited, and I don’t know what in God’s name happened, or how, but you pushed me over the edge.
We broke, like a rickety bridge being crossed by elephants.
I go through my things, I look at the pictures, I think about the good times, and that is why it hurts so freaking bad.
We were perfect, you where the second best friend I ever had, and you screwed me.
Our lives are so intertwined that I don’t know how to not be with you.
I can tell, there are moments you forget. You forget whatever is over you, and you shine through, and for that second you forget everything that has happened and then, just as fast as it came it leaves.
You are freezing me. Giving me a heart of ice, and you are the only thing that can thaw it.
I want so desperately to hug you, but I fear if I do you will push me away.
It’s not okay. It’s not okay for you to do this, but I can’t stop you.
I love you, but I am in this pit because of you.
