Books
Not always sure what a good book may be,
I remember the first one I read.
It was in the fourth grade,I was eleven,
I sat in a crappy chair with a book,
My mind ran quickly as the picture came,I closed my eye’s,
Two men with flashing swords fought bravely,
they fought like madmen in the golden country side,
My mind went blank, each fighting for survival,
My mind racing with excitement,
they cried out in anger like two trumpets,
their strength failing as they fought on for survival.
I heard them each time I looked at that book, crying at as they fought,
the other soldiers were going about their business with quick feet leaving them, there are sounds of warning all around when you are in the country, they were denied help from their friends,
I wish that I could have helped them.
mentored by the poem Forgive my guilt by Robert P. Coffin
