Sometimes, I lay in the grass
Look up and wonder
How the world works.
The clouds, stars, all moved
in perfect synchronization that I
get flustered thinking about it.

The happiness and joy it
brings when laying in the green grass
When watching, waiting, I
am amazed at the wonder-
ful diamonds in the night sky that moved,
am amazed at how it works.

No one knows how the world works
We ever so speculate about it
Thinking about it, makes one moved
while staring up, sitting in the grass
The stars and clouds make you wonder
how it works, you and I

The beautiful world that I
live in, the beautiful world that works
its creations, all of the wonder
brings the world together, it
is like a revelation. Sitting in the grass
Watching the stars as it moved.

As the moon shone and moved,
My eyes couldn’t behold it, I
sat in the lush, green grass
watching the world that works
bringing everyone together, and it
makes all of the wonder

unnoticeable, unless you sit in the grass and wonder
And watch how the clouds have moved
the people and me, it
couldn’t have been any better. I
assure that that you won’t know how the world works
Unless you sit in the lush green grass

The lush green grass makes you wonder
How the world has moved and how it works,
I couldn’t tell it to you any better. It’s beautiful.

The author's comments:

Ever since my childhood, I have simply loved nature, from the blossoming flowers to the gorgeous trees. Marveling at the harmony of nature and our world has inspired me to write this sestina. When sitting under the starry night sky, one can truly experience the creations of nature, and I hope others can understand this beautiful concept as well.
