Pale limbs writhe against the pale sheets
purple veins stretch
across eyelids
agonizing
Desperate groans from the headboard
pleading its mate
for but one night
to do its job.
The melancholy glow of dawn
creeps through the blinds
Fatigue settles
in aching bones.
