The end was not the end

Hopeless I felt
I don’t know what happened I’m passed out
In the back of the car I melt
My dad turns around and starts to shout
He thought I was dead
I have no remembrance of this
I just woke up on the hospital bed
It wasn’t out fault, it was his
Three weeks I will never get back
I had a broken neck
I had no knowledge of this so I chose to attack
I worked harder in my therapies till I was in check
You’d think your friends would be by your side
In the hospital they were great
But one I got out they left me to hide
I said I needed my old friends, they didn’t take the bait
Nerve, neck, and brain damaged, lying there in a pool of blood
All I have left from the accident- my scars
Yet the one I least excepted of, Madi, stayed my bud
If only I wasn’t in the wreck with those cars
Like memories, taking my life kept haunting my mind
No one to talk to, depressed I felt
A bullet was all I had to find
Around my neck laid a belt
Wanting to end it all
Thankfully a friend was there
She kept me at stall
Friends like her are rare
She’s like an angel, a blessing of a friend
Preventing me to choose a bitter end…
