Her eyes glimmer silently in dim light,
You could wish upon those bright shooting stars.
She is a rare jewel in the saddest night.

She often rides with devotees in cars,
Who wish they could touch, caress, and hold her,
Yet she rises to heights farther than Mars.

Her hair falls soft, quiet, as though it were
Dancing with a gown of jewels, all shining.
Her body, tanned and gleaming, is allure.

It’s said each cloud has a silver lining,
But every day, I watch the skies ‘til late
And see no clouds. Silver gone, I’m pining.

For I have slowly learned to hate, to hate
Each gossamer curl, her legs long for years.
Those patterned stockings she’ll wear on a date.

She is a dream, and all of my worst fears:
Beautiful, heartfelt, wondrously kind,
With a soft, lilting voice that haunts my ears.

My quiet hate burns hotly in my mind,
For this hate is born of a love god-send,
While this dear friend is fortunately blind.

Her flaws are too perfect to condescend,
Green tears stain my heart?—?we’re friends ‘til the end.
