You Are Who You Are
Being born autistic
It was not my choice
It just sort of happened
Like how you lose your voice
It was a simple mistake
It was just my DNA
It happened in a flash
There was no other way
I was different from others
They stared and laughed at me
Why would they do that?
I was like a different tree
There is a forest of trees
One is different from the rest
Do you stare at it in awe?
Or do you hate it the best?
That Is my question to you
Reading this poem
Do you hate our differences?
Or do you show em?
It’s not bad to be different you know
It’s what makes us who we are
So I leave you with one last question
What makes you who you are?
