Dear eight o'clock:
When you strike
You end the night
With your cheerless knock.
Dear eight o'clock:
Like early sun
With pity none,
And energy mock.
Dear eight o'clock:
With your breath
Comes icy death
Of morning shock.
Dear eight o'clock:
Like before,
March through the door,
Begin your endless talk.
Dear eight o'clock:
My enemy;
Taunting me,
Breaking off the lock.
Dear eight o'clock:
I'm done with you
Pushing through
With your commanding walk.
Dear eight o'clock:
These two words
Will make you hurt:
Weekends. Rock.
