Destruction

January 9, 2009
By Anonymous

Fire will rain
the earth will fall
none will remain
it destroys us all
water will rise
to burry the ashes
everything dies
as the earth crashes
nothing is left
forever it is gone
nothing is left
no house no lawn
nothing is left
all burnt in the sun
nothing is left
the earth is done
but your soul lives on
though all else is gone
will you burn in the sun
or live forever with the son

What can I say but amazing! I love the rhythmic pattern and conciseness you employ to get across your implicating message. Wow. Please keep writing!

One question...the word "lawn" in the twelfth line seems a little out of place with the rest of your slightly morbid, serious words... could you possibly find something else to rhyme with "done"? Otherwise, great.

And the last two lines remain my favorites.
