The Lights of Life and Death
Driving down a country road
Bare and dark with no place to go
Somewhere in the distance is a light
Piercing the darkness with all it’s might
Unknowingly like a moth
Chasing the light with no thought
My car racing towards the end
Hitting the ground wounded and dead
Up in the sky a light appeared
Descending towards me I began to fear
I heard a reassuring voice
Do not fear
The Lord is near

This came to me when thinking about my friends parents who died in a car accident. I wanted to express my sorrow and hope for my friend through this poem.
