Gilt Covered

The rain fell down,
down on my eyes,
obscuring and blinding,
so i could not see,
the truth behind,
your lies and deceit,
your innocent face,
your flawless lips,
they all spill lies,
behind a gilt covered face,
But behind the gold,
I see the truth,
the ugly truth,
the pretty truth,
the in-between,
all are hidden,
behind the gilt covered lie.
