they play this game

they think it's fun

to scar someone's soul-and when

their Conscious lets out a muffle from

where it being suffocated..

they burp out an empty apology.

and I am suppose to accept it.

not this time.

she said sorry..i looked at her

levels of depth digging in my eyes

waves of thoughts streaming in my mind..

till it was one perfect wave

that let out a tide from my mouth

and i watched as it it hit her,

surprised.

i forgave her for my own sanity

,rejected her fake apology

and watched her make sense of the puzzles i'd just thrown in her face

as I walkedd away.

my game is called Self-respect.

..and no,

it's not at anothers expense,

but i debt i owe myslef.

I've met some pretty horrible characters in my life, who've done things i never thought people who you could call friends would do. but I learnt and grew. and I thank them for making me stronger.

I reread it- and the part about the way you accepted the apology, with the wave references, is amazing!

A very good poem- I actually was in similar circumstances today, and ended up finding your poem by coincidence. Very well written, but there are a few typos and perhaps 'grammos' as well. But great work, I hope you keep writing. All the very best.
