The Wall

I was on the
Edge
Thoughts trembling
Palms sweaty,
I watched the first
People shred down
Then my friend slice her board through
The icy terrain

Earlier today
My friend and I
Signed up for a
Brown patch lesson,
We ended up with the
Biggest challenge of
Our lives
The Wall

With my board hanging of the
Edge in mid-air
I leaned on it
I was going down
Carving around mini hills
I was doing good
No
I was doing great
It was like a rush went through me,
Heel to
Toes
Heel to
Toes
I was flying down the hill with
The biggest smile imaginable on my face

Then,
In that moment
I was turned around
Facing up and
Fell forward
Snow plunged in my coat
The cold tickled my neck
From there gravity turned me facing
Down
There was no nope
Of getting up
I was only half way
The rest of the way down
Was on nothing but
My face
