Laus victoriae dulcedine,

Destruction weaved from drudgery and demise,

Unjustified in the name of the divine.

The judicious know that it can never last,

Though they themselves are tantalized by its tang,

Laus victoriae dulcedine.

Man pitted against Man,

A shining sea of sparkling scarlet stains the soil,

Unjustified in the name of the divine.

Each takes a bite of the succulent fruit,

Bounty bestowed yet blighted by the bouquet of bereavement

Laus victoriae dulcedine.

Strangled shrieks pierce the night,

Muffled muttering encompass the eclipse,

Unjustified in the name of the divine.

Creation crumbled, giants guillotined,

Each one that gave their lives to history,

Laus victoriae dulcedine.

Unjustified in the name of the divine.
