The Bookshelf
It sits quietly in a corner
Made of wood and screws
And on it are my pleasure
Of half a dozen books
Each include a story
That is waiting to be read
A new parallel universe
To help make me forget
But soon it will be full
And the I will be screwed
For if I have no books
I will not be as cool
Books keep me happy
They keep me from being sad
And if I ran out
I would not be very glad
Books keep me going
And help me forget
How life can be cruel
And full of regret
So if it weren’t for my bookshelf
I would not have many books
And I will always love my bookshelf
For helping me get through
