A Stormy Night
2:50 AM, the rain awakes me,
By the flashing of the alarm clock,
And the constant sound of rain hitting the
 The window behind me.

 Occasionally flashes of lightning
Produce light in the darkened room,
Where all that is visible is the time,
 Before the strike of lightning.

Thunder rattles the old windows through the house
As each rumble sends a wave of vibrations
 Through old insulated walls
In the age old white brick house.

My eyelids close to the soothing sound
Of rain pounding the green paint of the window sill.
