Hey you,
Yes you, standing there.
Brown eyes, wavy brown hair.
Taller than I, but still within glance.
Hey you,
Hey you,
Do I stand a chance?

You said hello,
Just a simple "Hey,"
After a presentation
At orientation day.

You're from out-of state,
I am, too.
But that smile so radiant,
Hey you.

Well, you asked me to dinner
At the college that day,
Stunned me completely, swept me away.
"So tell me about yourself," you say.
"Hey you, hey you" my dreams- you stay.

Hey you, "email me sometime"
Dropped off his address at the turn of a dime.
"Text me," I said, "When you have time"
He gave me his number, too, in the nick of time.

"Hey you," he said I was heading to my dorm,
We stood outside and talked, it was out of the norm.
But he said "Have a great night," and I said the same,
"See you at breakfast," but who could blame?

The next morning I woke up at 6 A.M.
To find my sweetheart had slept in.
A little smile, a little grin.
"hey you?" I think I win :)

We signed up for classes together, nothing major-
But a major is one thing we share.
Goodness I got his number- oh contrare!
"Hey you over there!"

Hey you hey you, you might have captured my heart.
Your eyes- they won me over from the start.
Hey you, I'm just doing my part.
Hey you, hey you, you might have captured my heart.

And before we both went back to our own state,
He gave me a hug that I did reciprocate.
My head on his chest, he didn't let go
For at least seven seconds, or so!

He said he would text me and I'd do so as well.
And said he'd love a tour from me! How swell!
Hey you, hey you, if only I could tell.
Did you fall, too- or was it just me who fell?

Hey you, hey you, just pulling away.
You might have just changed my life in one day.
Hey you, hey you- I think you captured my heart.
then again you just might have done that from the start.

"Hey you."
