my four friends
1
Jessie
a small companion i barely remember/ with loud barks and a fuzzy tail/ I knew her not but I knew of the tales/ of how she ate plants and lifted leg like a male/ how she barked and barked when I first came home/ and dad would always give her chicken bones
2
Sugar
the black and white shi-tzu who I knew better/ small and quiet with fur like a feather/ she loved bananas and cuddling at night/ and would always refuse when older Jessie started to play-fight/ put down before we moved, arthritis in her bones/ and still buried in that old home
3
Kirby
first male of the bunch, a rascal like Jessie always trying to prove/ he could put up a fight despite his small size/ even though now he's blind blind in one eye/ and he still trys to fight despite the graying of his muzzle/ snoring and tripping an old man's worst struggle/ he's one I knew best and one i held close/ most precious in my heart the one I love most/ and i hope he knows that for he will be leaving soon/ and I pray in heaven he can howl to the moon
4
Coco
the smallest one yet and good friend of the last/ the dog was chocolate brown in the past/ but when her fur got long, was cut the first time/ we found out that Coco was actually white!/ with a fear of my sister and personality of a cat/ little Coco would rather sit down for a nap/ at the foot of the bed, on your belly, or a pillow on the couch/ and although she won't show it she's not really a grouch/ she snuggles a lot and she loves to eat treats, and don't tell him but can actually beat/Kirby in a fight and make him turn tail/ for this little dog has a painful wail/ a goose we compare when she barks, if she barks/and because of all that, this small cat-like dog has a special place in my heart
