Bridges
I’ll build a bridge
With the fears I have,
Embrace the ridges
Glue together the cracks.
I’ll lie on my back
And count the stars,
Let my mind slack
Dream about open jars.
I’ll collect my dreams
Inside these containers,
Sew them at the seams
And save them for later.
I’ll let my anger turn to dust
Open up my mind,
Let my hate turn to rust
And relearn to be kind.
I’ll view my life choices
And forgive my mistakes,
Reminisce old voices
Regret being fake.
I’ll shut my eyes
Then hold my ears,
Dispose the untold lies
Until the desolation disappears.
I’ll perceive in the dark
Everything incomprehensible in light,
Let my worries lark
Out of clear sight.
I’ll burn my bridge one day
When my life flickers,
Let the memories turn gray
Tear up old pictures.
I’ll let the candle burn out
But my heart will flame further,
Give the world no doubt
The past has been murdered.
