The Big Mistake

June 2, 2014
By Anonymous

A Drafts run against us
The air is brisk and arid
Yet thick when inhaled
The only colors I see
Are red and a grey regret

A friend a loved one
Lays silently on the ground
The only movement
Is my own pulse, fast loud beats
Theirs can no longer be heard

Who I have become
I do not exactly know
What I have just done
Sits as debt I can't repay
As time passes that debt grows

With just one mistake
My days will be filled with grief
When I try to sleep
My eyes will see you lying
Silent, never to come back
