A Cowboys Dream
In my mind I can see
The beauty of the prairie
From golden tall grasses to the lone oak tree
There’s no place I’d rather be
The cattle graze upon the hill
The sunset stretches for miles even still
Purples, blues, golds, and reds
The beauty of this all fills my head
And on the canyons tall and strong
The days work had all been done
I saddle up my horse and know this is the place where I belong
The prairie is my home as much as this setting sun
My family waits for me in a cabin down below
The smells of my wife’s cornbread and beans fill my nose
A home made of love and a family that grows
A wife that gets sweeter as each days goes
Where a man can be as free as his soul
The prairie is this place that connects my whole
My horse understands this just like a man
This place is where God created for me, His plan
So as the day ends and night begins to fall
The sounds of the land begin to call
I fall to my knees and pray
Thanking God for His glorious day
