The Mountain
I stand on the rugged mountaintop
looking out over the valley below
green trees cloak the rolling hills
the sun shines and birds chirp
the top of the mountain is very bare
only grass and moss in between rocks
and small shrubs with berries grow there
a jet soars high above the mountain
passengers look down on the valley below
they cannot see me, but I can see them
towns are scattered in the valley below
they look so close but they are miles away
It is strange,
technology touches every day of our life
but here it is wild, I am in nature
there is not a cellphone for miles
but yet, i still see reminders of it
telephone wires, and planes flying
I am separate from the world on this mountain
it is calming
and tranquil
I am in nature
