Diabetes
"Gain some weight."
"You're to skinny."
It wasn't my fault,
It was the sickness within me.
"Somethings wrong."
"Hurry quick!"
These words were said
When we found out I was sick.
"Whats your name?"
"Whose the president?"
"Give me your arm."
"This will only hurt a bit."
Three days were spent
In a hospital bed.
The blood from my fingertips
Dropped down to a pool of red.
"Count your carbs and, mind your bread."
So much information
Crammed inside my head.
"Your underweight,
Your frame to small."
"It'll be fine."
"Don't worry at all."
"You're free to go,
Take care of yourself."
"Make sure to be careful
And manage your health."
Doctor visits
Come and go.
Gaining weight
Nice and slow.
"You're starting weight
was 110."
"You were extremely unhealthy
And extremely thin."
"Now you're 139
And that's great
And here's your card
with your next appointment date."
