An Ode To my Opressors
I praise you for many things
I praise you for beating me down
For I have gotten back up
I praise you for telling me I will be nothing
For I believe I am going to be something
I praise you for trying to destroy my dreams
For now my dreams are no longer deferred
I praise you for the cruel things you've said to me
For now I am glad to be me
I praise you for underestimating me
For now I have the strength to succeed
I praise you for your immorality
For now you have inspired me
I praise my oppressors for they have given me the chance
to follow my dreams and find the real me
