Burden
The girl cried over broken bottle dreams and cigarette beliefs
She wept for the fallen trees and the commercialization of deceit
In her eyes she held the secret of a society long betrayed
And exposed her inner workings to the mother of the depraved
We found her in the forest dripping gossamer rubies from her hair
She reeked of regret, disappointment and despair
On hunched shoulders rested the burden of dozens
they had all denied her yet relied on her from the brothers to the cousins
She was the goddess of the flimsy, glittery nation
A honorary mention in the world of dedication
The rebel of the warriors clad in black and blue
In her heart she laid the map of me and you
