Breaking Night Book Review
Have you ever been so hungry that you would eat toothpaste or lip balm? In Liz Murray’s book Breaking Night, a small girl named Liz Murray had to. She wasn’t very hygienic or respected around her house. Liz was raised in a poverty stricken home with holes in the walls, moldy food in the fridge, rats and other gross pests running around in her house. The poor little girl had to suffer with lice and deal with her mom dying.
It’s crazy the way people could treat a small child or just ignore their cries and screams for food and shelter.
How Would You feel?
At times she had smiles on her face because her friends were kind enough to sacrifice some food and shelter. Other than her small group of friends she was S.O.L living on the streets; a teenage girl starving, dirty and misled. All she needed was a little bit of money so she could get something in her stomach but people just ignored her little cup of change. The faces you see as they pass her… Disgust, grossed out, shocked and snooty. These are the thoughts that go through people heads when they threw her some change “She’ll probably use it on drugs” or “Gross.”
Liz Murray had been through Hell and back… until she discovered her thirst for education. She knew that the only way her life could change for the best was to shoot for the stars and soar through space. The amount of pain someone can go through is amazing but the amount of pain Liz had gone through was just crazy; from leaving her home at a young age to growing up into a young adult who wanted to learn.
Honestly if you like uplifting autobiographies that can truly change your outlook on life than go out and get yourself a copy of Breaking Night. TODAY!
