"Fake"
An empty smile from across the hall
which really has no meaning at all.
A short text saying “I miss you”
sent with fake emotion out of the blue.
Countless compliments offered,
but never meaning a single word.
Including them to tag along
to secretly laugh at all day long.
Groups of friends constantly switching
making plans with them then ditching.
Claiming to like someone
just to see them come closer and run.
Being nice when they are around
but once they leave stomp their name in the ground.
Hugs given with meaning they lack
because when you turn around there is a knife to your back.
This is the life of a teenage girl
living in this messed up world.
Plenty of friends for one to make
but which are real and which are fake?
