Soaring
We wake to a battle field,
Full of struggles and hardship.
The wounds we have are deep,
But we keep fighting.
People cry for help, water, anything.
The sky darkens for a moment,
Blocking out the sun.
The once radiant symbol of hope,
Gone.
I stretch my hands up and grab,
The darkness,
The loneliness,
The heartache,
And yank it down.
Time freezes,
And miracles happen.
The wounded rise to their feet.
The hurt disappears,
The eyes become clear.
Minds and hearts are put back together,
Piece by piece.
The sky is purged of the darkness.
The stars are visible,
Sparkling in the night.
Dreams and hopes shine.
I unfold my wings and soar.
