The current of events, I cannot fathom.
For the turn I have taken, creates such a great spasm
It twists and writhes my head like so
Yet you push me away and say ‘go with the flow’
But I can’t do as you please
Because it brings me to my knees
With cries of my pain
Sought torture, whispers my name
You think it is just a phase
A phase that brings a haze
And blinds my mind in a blaze
But you are wrong, for I raise
I push through your cold words
And take flight with many birds
I soar higher and higher
Bursting away from the fire
You can no longer touch me
