The trail floor was littered with leaves
The air was cold and crisp
Beaming above was the sun
When it became night
You never knew it was fall
Right was the time

If right was the time
Fall would the leaves
The season was fall
Leaves crisp
When it’s night
Away goes the sun

We wake, back is the sun
Quickly goes the time
All through the night
Falling leaves
Night crisp
Blurred memories of fall

Thought I would never fall
I was the first-born son
The field was crisp
Running out of time
Before we knew it, we had to leave
But young was the night

Dark was the night
Dreary fall
Crumpled leaves
No sun
At all, the time
Was going on, fall wasn’t so fresh and crisp

Short and crisp
The season was ending like the night
Running out of time
Ending was fall
The sun
Leaves

The crisp leaves bring back memories
Of the sun disappearing into night
The end of fall, it’s time
