The Life for Me
One, two, three.
Whoop.
The bell rings and I begin swimming.
My arms slicing through the water.
A backstroke here, and a backstroke there.
The air is filled with faint cheers.
My position quickly changes to a butterfly.
Like a lion that pounces to snatch his prey.
The other competitors better kiss their dreams good bye of winning the heat.
I am fatigued but I must go on.
Breathing hard, I complete the long hard race with a time of 30 seconds.
I feel exultant like a mother when she has a baby.
Some choose video games as their hobby.
Others choose soccer.
I prefer swimming.
It is the life for me.
