I am from movies, from Fisher Price and Cheerios.
I am from the house on the farm, to the one with the big tree in front.
(Crisp air, to long gravel roads.)
I am from the mushy mulberry trees to wild tiger lilies.
I am from new pajamas on Christmas Eve and beautiful blue eyes, from one Huebotter to another.
I am from continuous laughter around the tree and the Rutledge Flea Market every month.
From “Be careful”, to “Slow down”.
I am from Columbia to Knox City, chocolate chip cookies to annual Thanksgiving enchiladas.
From the many Air Force stories to the spider bite of 2005 that almost took my mom.
I am from the long skinny hope chest that lies at the end of the iron bed, in which holds all of our childhood memories.
I am me.

We'll first of all this was a class assignment that my teacher gave us at the beginning of the year. It was to help us practice poetry and so she could get to know us a little better. I really liked what I had written because I thought I was exactly me. Like it was what my life and childhood was mainly about.
